What assisted living at Chattington Manor means
Assisted living is for older adults who don’t need hospital-level medical care but do need a hand with daily life. At Chattington Manor, that help happens inside a real home in Far North Dallas, not a large building. Our family-style setting means fewer residents, more attention and caregivers who truly know the person they are caring for.
Before move-in, every resident has a healthcare assessment. From it we write a personalized service plan that provides just the right amount of care: enough support to keep your loved one safe and comfortable, and enough freedom to protect their independence and privacy. Because our dedicated care staff are here 24/7, we can add services the moment needs change.
In Texas, assisted living facilities are licensed by the Health and Human Services Commission. If you are new to the options, the HHSC overview of assisted living facilities (opens in a new tab) is a helpful starting point.

Life in a real Dallas home
Assisted living here looks like ordinary home life, with help close by. Breakfast is served at your loved one’s own pace. Three fresh, home-cooked meals are prepared daily in our kitchen and shared around the family table. Afternoons bring games, music and conversation — or quiet time with a book, if that’s what someone prefers.
Daily housekeeping and personal laundry are taken care of. Scheduled transportation gets residents to and from medical appointments. Private and semi-private rooms let each person choose the setting that suits them, and families are always welcome to visit.

Is assisted living right for your parent?
Families usually start looking for assisted living in Dallas when living alone has started to feel risky or lonely. You may be noticing:
- Missed medications or confusion about doses
- A fall, or worry about the next one
- Weight loss or skipped meals
- Difficulty bathing, dressing or keeping up the house
- Loneliness and fewer reasons to leave home
- A family caregiver who is exhausted
If memory loss is part of the picture, our memory care in Dallas offers more structure and dementia-trained support in the same home. Our article on signs it may be time for memory care can help you decide.

What families say about Chattington Manor
Chattington Manor was the last home my Father lived in. I feel very fortunate to have placed him there. They took great care of him and made a family environment for him. They even held a Happy Birthday Memorial party for him after he passed. If you are looking for an assisted living home, Chattington Manor is the place to go. I highly recommend it.
I am continually amazed and honored to work with Chattington Manor. The care is exceptional. The caregivers and owner truly care about the residents of the home. As a hospice social worker, I recommend this home. I would feel very comfortable and have peace of mind with my own family should they need this level of care.
Great caring place. I looked at numerous other care homes and found this home goes above and beyond. I highly recommend.
Assisted living questions
Still deciding? Call (972) 788-1820 — a real person who knows the home will answer.
How is Chattington Manor different from a large assisted living facility?
We are a residential care home — a real house in a quiet Far North Dallas neighborhood, not an institutional building. With fewer residents, caregivers get to know each person well, routines stay familiar and care adapts to the person rather than the other way around. Every resident has a healthcare assessment before move-in and a personalized plan that our on-site team adjusts as needs change. What daily activities do caregivers help with?
Caregivers help with bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring and incontinence care — only as much as each resident needs, so they keep as much independence as possible. Meals, housekeeping, laundry and scheduled transportation are included too. The full list is on our senior care services page.
How do you decide the right level of care for my parent?
Before move-in we complete a healthcare assessment with your family to understand needs, preferences and daily routines. We then build a personalized care plan. Because staff are on-site 24 hours a day, we notice changes early and adjust the plan as needed. Call (972) 788-1820 to talk it through.
Is staff on-site overnight?
Yes. Certified caregivers are on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including overnight supervision for safe, restful sleep.
Who manages medications?
Medications are administered and monitored by our care team and coordinated with each resident's physicians and pharmacy, so doses are given on time and changes are communicated to your family.
What is included, and how much does it cost?
Three home-cooked meals a day, housekeeping, personal laundry, scheduled transportation to medical appointments, 24/7 supervision and the personal care in your loved one's plan. Your rate depends on the room type and the level of care from the assessment. We are happy to walk you through current pricing and availability by phone at (972) 788-1820.
How does move-in work?
There are three steps: a tour, a care assessment that shapes your loved one's personalized plan, and a gentle move-in day where we help them settle in. Most families tell us the hardest part is deciding — we will help with the rest.
What is the difference between assisted living and memory care?
Assisted living supports older adults who need help with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing and medications. Memory care adds a calmer environment, structured routines and caregivers who understand dementia-related changes in behavior, communication and safety. Many families start with assisted living and add memory support as needs grow.
